Dr. Jothi Paranthaman is an educator and researcher in big data, machine intelligence, and IoT. She holds a PhD in Computer Science, an M.Tech in Big Data and Blockchain from the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna, and an MSc in Computer Systems Management, obtained with distinction. She also holds a B.Eng in Computer Science. In addition to formal training in assessment and moderation, she has several years of work experience in both education and industry.

Dr. Paranthaman is particularly interested in failure prediction of complex inter- and intra-connected systems. She has been researching fault detection and diagnosis within big data environments using deep neural networks, along with evolutionary computing and industrial IoT, to address issues before they arise. She also researches cyber threat detection and the use of generative AI in financial security and in collaborative robotics for agriculture. She holds two patents in India: one for a mobile-sensor health monitoring system and one for a method to improve students' grades, reflecting her interest in the use of technology for the betterment of humanity.

Dr. Paranthaman's teaching and research cover programming in C, C++, Java, Python, and R. She has skills in database systems and big data technologies including Apache Hadoop and Spark, as well as numerous web technologies. Her interests in data science extend across wireless networks, cloud computing, and IoT, and she has worked on multiple projects ranging from healthcare privacy cloud databases to using machine learning to identify fake news and cyberbullying.

At EIIET, Dr. Paranthaman's considerable research experience and her interest in new technologies provide an improved atmosphere for students. Her work creates a balance of focused teaching and research, allowing the institution and its students to develop and grow in the ever-changing world of computing.
