Mr. Mahmoud Abdou is one of the leading scholars with extended experience in heritage conservation and management. With his master's degree in Heritage Conservation and Site Management from Brandenburg University of Technology and Helwan University, Egypt, he acquired deep knowledge in cultural heritage preservation concerning various contexts. His academic studies are complemented by considerable contributions to the field of heritage and cultural identity; he has written several impactful articles in international journals such as Cultural Trends and the International Journal of Heritage and Museum Studies. His forthcoming book chapter entitled The Arab Spring Revolutions: Contestation of Memories and Heritage in Egypt tests his continuous commitment toward advancing the discourse on heritage and cultural identity.
Mr. Mahmoud Abdou combines his professional career with his time spent at the Higher Institute for Hotels & Tourism in Cairo and on the front lines with hotels and travel agencies that operate in Germany and Egypt. He has deeply developed his interpersonal and organizational skills as a Front Office Agent in establishments like Moxy Berlin Airport and Wilde Aparthotels CheckPoint Charlie, Berlin. His previous experience as a Reservation Agent at Al-Mosafer Saudi Arabia Travel Agency and Travel Advisor at Memphis Tours equipped him with an in-depth understanding of tourism management and customer service.
